From its head office overlooking the entrance to the port of Beirut, GAC Lebanon acts as a coordination point for all operators in the country. Branch offices in the northern port of Tripoli and at Saida (Sidon), in the south, support the head office.
The company offers a comprehensive range of agency services, tailor-made for today's liner and tramp vessels calling at Beirut Port and terminals at Amchit, Chekka, Dora, Ras Selaata, Saida (Sidon), Tripoli, Zahrani and Zouk. These services cover various types of cargo, in particular containers, RoRo, break bulk and project cargo.
GAC Lebanon can also arrange:
Crew attendance:immigration formalities, "Meet & Greet" service at the airport, hotel reservations, air tickets and shore pass arrangements.
Medical attendance.
Clearance and delivery of spares.
Bunkers and fresh water supplies.
Cash to Master.
The company can arrange ships' supplies, acts as P&I correspondent and provides Sea-Air Freight services. It achieved ISO 9002 certification in September 1999.
Historical note:
The first GAC office in Lebanon was established in 1967 but was forced to close in mid-1975 due to the outbreak of civil war. Sixteen years later the office reopened to provide a full range of ship agency services at all ports and terminals in the country.
