Overview
Oil and gas account for about 85% of Qatar’s export earnings, and have made it the world’s second largest per capita income country with a fast growing economy. Proven oil reserves of 15 billion barrels should enable continued output for years to come. Qatar’s natural gas reserves represent about 14% of the global total.
The country is seeking to stimulate the private sector to: develop a “knowledge economy”, establish itself as a major sports venue (Doha hosted the 15th Asian Games in 2006) and raise the country’s profile as a tourist destination.
GAC Qatar was established in 1976 and is now one of the country’s leading shipping and forwarding agents, providing a comprehensive portfolio of professional shipping, logistics, marine services and solutions.
