GAC Oman was established in 1971, originally as a shipping agent, handling vessels at Port Sultan Qaboos. Since then our portfolio of services has grown and today GAC Oman is one of the leading shipping and forwarding agents in the country. We have a strong tradition of entrepreneurship, dedicated to providing efficient and competitively priced shipping, logistic and marine services.

GAC Oman operates from its own purpose built office in Muscat and it has a fully-fledged warehouse located adjacent to the office.

GAC Oman has two additional offices in the capital city area - at the Seeb Airport and the main sea port, Port Sultan Qaboos. The company also has offices in Salalah to the south, and Sohar in the north.

GAC Oman has a total staff strength of 128. The company continues to grow and our policies on recruitment and staff development ensure that all personnel are fully aware of the company's goals and objectives.

GAC Oman provides all its services with the full support of a comprehensive insurance coverage; shipping services through ITIC London with a liability limit of USD 2 million, Logistics services through the TT Club, a mutual insurance club in which GAC is a member with a coverage of up to USD 2 million.

GAC has always been aware of the importance of providing quality services. With the introduction of a formalised quality standard, ISO 9000, it was soon evident that GAC would become involved in such a process and accordingly ISO 9001:2000 is implemented throughout the entire organisation. GAC Oman has had a Quality Management System in place since 1996 and was certified (ISO 9001:2000) by DNV in April 1997.

• Reviewing the GAC Group HSSE Management System at planned intervals
