Established in 1972 and with headquarters in Abu Dhabi, GAC Marine offers marine transportation and associated engineering services to the offshore and shipping industry. The main activity of the Marine Services is to provide offshore and marine support services to the offshore energy industry through the operation of a fleet of offshore marine service craft.
GAC Marine supports various phases of offshore exploration, development and production, including anchor handling of lay barges and mobile drilling rigs, towing of barges for pipes, structures and equipment. GAC Marine is also involved in transporting supplies and personnel necessary to sustain drilling, workover and production activities.
The fleet of tugs, barges and landing craft are also involved with offshore construction, marine civil construction and project cargo transportation.
GAC Marine operates a fleet of around 40 marine craft comprising anchor handling tugs, supply vessels, utility boats, landing craft, tugs and barges. Vessels can be customized according to client requirements. For example with custom fitted A-Frames, additional workshop space, accommodation, cranes etc.
GAC Marine Turkmenistan was established in 2000, when GAC Marine mobilised two anchor handling tug/supply vessels, one 130' crew/supply vessel and one 180' flat top barge to the Caspian Sea. In 2001 a further two AHTS were mobilized. The fleet now consists of 14 units. The Caspian Sea basin is considered to be the largest undeveloped Oil & Gas reservoir left in the world. GAC has through its Turkmenistan branch office established one administration office in the capital Ashgabad and operations offices in the Caspian seaside towns of Hazar and Turkmenbashi.
In addition, GAC also offer Ship-to-Ship transfer, Mooring Master as well as equipment rentals through the Dubai-based company, Gulf Transfer Services.
