GAC is known for having a strong network in the Middle East. With established operations in countries surrounding Iraq - Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Lebanon and Jordan - the Group is ideally placed to be the leading shipping and logistics services provider for the country.

GAC Iraq operates at the country's ports, including Umm Qasr and Basrah OIl Terminal, with locally based staff coordinated by GAC Kuwait. The operation is supported by the Group's offices in neighbouring countries, which serve as important entry points for Iraq business.

In March 2003, the United Nations' World Food Programme (WFP) appointed GAC as its port agent in the Middle East, handling WFP aid shipments to Iraq.
