Peru’s main exports are copper, gold, zinc, textiles and fish meal, and major trading partners include the USA, China, Brazil and Chile. Greater stability, better terms of trade and rising investment and consumption have fuelled economic growth in recent years. Peru’s Free Trade Agreement with the USA came into effect in April 2006.
