Overview
Hong Kong is officially a Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China, since the 1997 transfer of sovereignty. It has a highly developed capitalist economy, run under the “one country, two systems” policy, which gives it a highest degree of autonomy from the Chinese central government in all areas except foreign affairs and defence. It imports most food stuffs and raw materials and much of its exports are re-exports, reflecting its role as a key regional trans-shipment hub.
GAC Hong Kong was established in 1974, and the experience gained since then has given us an understanding of how business works in this major import/export hub. Our coverage extends to southern China, particularly the manufacturing centres of Shenzhen and other parts of the Guangzhou province and Pearl River Delta.
